So we moved to Houston in May into a house that needs a LOT of TLC (oh the joys of getting lied to when buying a home). The important part is we get to live together and we’ll make this house so pretty when we’re done with it. Plus it will be fun to create it together. But first, we gotta get running water. Yes, you read that correctly we don’t have functional plumbing…

Career update I lost my corporate job due to COVID and now I’m working part-time at a restaurant (new adventures for the win I guess) while trying to figure out life and trying to start my own business. Definitely wasn’t expecting to lose my job so the timing isn’t great having just bought a new and with no insulation (the electric bill is about $350) and a lot of work to do bills are gonna be tight.

After extensive discussion, my husband and I decided to have me work part-time so I have time to dedicate to get this blog up and running, work on the house, and tide us over while I look for a job that I’ll hopefully be able to work from home with. Or if I am really lucky we’ll be able to start our business and I won’t have to work for someone else anymore.

I’ve also added doordash to my list of endeavors because going from a fancy corporate job to part-time at a restaurant is a drastic income decrease and I won’t make enough, unfortunately.

Since we still have no water in the house we brought a hose in through the window in the bathroom and that is how we shower for now. Nothing like an ice-cold shower. But hey it’s always hot in the house so it isn’t too bad lol. I look forward to being able to tell my future children all the crazy life stories we’ve been through.

Planning on getting some pictures up of the before of the house before we start revamping so home reno before and after pics coming soon! well the after will be a while lol.

Some current pics will also be up soon. I was wanting to wait until I got the house way more together and not so many boxes and everything everywhere but then I remembered I have an entire section of my blog dedicated to doing life unfiltered so I’m going to take some snapshots of the house while it’s still in disaster mode to help y’all feel a little bit better about your lives lol.

Oh last but not least I got myself a ticktock set up because everyone said I should do the home reno on there since people love watching a good home makeover. Plus it will give a more direct lifeline into the day-to-day things for those who are interested. So follow me on tick-tock for updates as well!

I’ll be working on getting Facebook and Instagram pages up soon. They really don’t tell you how many outlets are needed for a blog when you start it lol. No wonder I get overwhelmed every time I try to figure out how to do something on here.

I’ll have pics and stuff and more put-together posts coming soon (hopefully) but in the meantime hit that subscribe button so you can stay updated on future posting.

Happy Friday Y’all!
